Having an iPhone is a great experience, especially if it is jailbroken. This is because you will have the opportunity to explore the limits the Apple gave as soon as you bought your new iPhone. As I promised in the previous post, I would like to discuss the procedure on how to jailbreak your iPhone 4.3.2 by using RedSnow. The procedure will work for both Mac and Windows but in this tutorial, we’ll use Windows.
First of all, make sure your iPhone is with firmware 4.3.2. If it’s not, update your iTunes to the latest version and also update your iPhone firmware. Make a backup and restore your iPhone in case something undesirable will happen. Assuming that your iPhone is 4.3.2, the following steps are to be followed:
- Download the latest version of RedSnow (I used 0.9.6rc14) and save it in a folder in your desktop. Extract the RedSnow zip file in that folder to open the files. Also download the firmware for your iPhone which is 4.3.2 and save it also in the folder you’ve created.
- Double click RedSnow to launch the application to start the jailbreak process. Browse for the firmware you have saved and click to continue.
3. In just a few seconds, RedSnow is going to prepare your iPhone for the jailbreak process.
4. Just select Install Cydia in the options as soon as RedSnow will ask to obtain the minimum requirements.
5. Turn off your iPhone by holding the power button for 3 seconds and slide to power off.
6. Prepare to make your iPhone in DFU mode by following the steps provided in the screen. Click if you are ready for DFU steps.
7. Once your iPhone is successful in DFU mode, RedSnow will now inject jailbreak in your device. Wait for the process to finish.
8. Your iPhone will reboot as soon as the process is finished.
If your procedure succeeds, then you’ll have a jailbroken iPhone with Cydia installed.
What to do next? Watch out for my next posts.
