These instructions will help you to easily perform an untethered jailbreak on your iPhone 4 (running iOS 4.2.1) or any other iOS device. First, you are required to download greenpoison for iOS 4.2.1. Then, connect your iPhone through USB to your laptop (Mac in my case). Click on the button that says “Jailbreak” as seen in the following screenshot:
You should now follow the onscreen instructions to enter the DFU mode (which go as follows):
- Press and hold the sleep button for 2 seconds
- Continue holding sleep; press and hold home for 10 seconds.
- Release sleep button; continue holding home for 15 seconds.
The jailbreaking process will now start and your iPhone will successfully be jailbroken on the 4.2.1. Tap on the “loader” to install Cydia.
Note to iPhone 4 owners – If your iPhone 4 relies on unlock, do not perform an upgrade to iOS 4.2.1 as it will also upgrade your baseband, making your device impossible to unlock afterwards. I still have the 3GS with 4.2.1, will these instructions work on my phone?
i can download the greenpoison fine but cydia wont show up now what?

greenpoison didn’t wk for me is their anything else that i could use because it won’t wk for my phone
